Volker  Roeben


Dr. habil. Volker Roeben is Professor of Public International at Swansea University Law School and Visiting Professor at the China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing. Pior to coming to Swansea in 2007 he was a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law. He has held several visiting professorships inter alia the University of Chicago School of Law. He served as a clerk to Justice Udo Di Fabio of the German Constitutional Court from 2000-2002. He has advised international organizations, including the Energy Charter, as well as the German federal Government and Parliament. He research lies in the broad fields of European Union law and public international law and their intersection and has published several books and a range of articles. He currently is completing work on a research monograph on the European Energy Union to be published by Cambridge University in 2016.
