François-Xavier TRAIN is the Secretary General of the French Committee on Arbitration as well as the Secretary General of the Revue de l’arbitrage, the French leading quarterly review on Arbitration and ADR. “Agrégé des facultés de droit” (2003)he is a tenured law professor at the University of Paris - Nanterre - La Défense; he co-directs the Master 2 (LLM) on International and European Litigation and Arbitration; he teaches Private International Law, International Business Law, Arbitration Law and Comparative Law (Contracts, Arbitration). After seven years of practice as an associate/senior associate in a French law firm (1996-2003), he has served since then as an independent consultant and as chairman, sole arbitrator or member of the arbitral tribunal in a number of domestic and international arbitration proceedings, either institutional (incl. ICC) or ad hoc.
François-Xavier is the author of numerous articles and commentaries relating to Domestic and International Arbitration and to Private International Law/International Business Law.
