Mr. Kaim is a partner and head of the Bankruptcy section
of Bracewell & Giuliani. He is experienced in all aspects
of Chapter 11 reorganizations, including the negotiation of
complex plans of reorganization and the litigation of
contested matters and adversary proceedings.
He has practiced exclusively in the area of business
bankruptcy law since 1979, when he began his private
practice after two years as a law clerk to a federal district
judge. He has represented Chapter 11 debtors in
possession, creditors committees, secured creditors,
landlords and acquirers in bankruptcy in a variety of
industries in major Chapter 11 cases throughout the
country.
While in law school at the University of Houston, Mr. Kaim
was editor of the Houston Law Review and a member of
the Order of the Barons. He received his J.D. at the
University of Houston Law Center, 1977, and his B.A., at
Southern Methodist University, 1974. He is board
certified in business bankruptcy law by the Texas Board
of Legal Specialization and by the American Board of
Certification. He is a Fellow in the American College of
Bankruptcy as well as recognized by Chambers &
Partners as a leader in his field.
