NACLE 2014 Student Paper Competition (posted 09/18/2013)


NACLE announces its 2014 Student Paper Competition. Submit a paper for the chance to win paid travel (including hotel and airfare) to the 2014 NACLE Workshop in Vancouver, Canada! Student winners will present their work at the NACLE Workshop and receive the opportunity to engage top international scholars and practitioners from Canada, Mexico and the United States. All eligible students are invited to apply.

* SUBMISSION DEADLINE: JANUARY 5, 2014*
Students at UHLC must submit their papers to Professor Zamora at szamora@central.uh.edu.

ELIGIBILITY: All students currently enrolled in an initial law degree or Masters of Laws program at a NACLE member law school as of December 2013 (INCLUDING December 2013 graduates) are eligible to participate in the NACLE Student Paper Competition.

PAPER REQUIREMENTS:
-The paper must address a topic related to (a) NAFTA, or (b) comparative North American law (i.e., Canadian v. Mexican law, U.S. v. Mexican law, etc.);
-must be unpublished at the time of submission to the competition;
-must be written by the student while enrolled in an initial law degree or Masters of Laws program at a NACLE member law school;
-may be written for course credit or independent study; and
-must be written in English, French or Spanish. *Note: It is strongly preferred that presentations be in English.

WINNER SELECTION: The faculty rep from each NACLE member school will select a student winner from their school by February 1, 2014. All of the student winners will present their papers at the 2014 NACLE Workshop, held on March 14-15, 2014 in Vancouver, Canada. NACLE will cover travel expenses, including hotel and airfare, for the student winner.
