IEL presents the 4th Law of Shale Plays Conference (posted 04/24/2013)

The IEL will be presenting the 4th Law of Shale Plays Conference at the Hilton Fort Worth Hotel on June 6th and 7th, and as a Law School Member of the IEL, the UHLC is entitled to send two students to the conference free of tuition charges.

Unfortunately, IEL does not subsidize travel or accommodation expenses for the students beyond the conference meals. Full details of the program can be found at http://www.cailaw.org/media/files/IEL/EventBrochures/2013/shale-plays.pdf.

If you wish to be nominated to attend the conference, please complete the attached registration form and email it to Prof. Jacqueline Weaver at jweaver@uh.edu. You may NOT register using the regular registration form which will not work without payment. To be registered, the students must be nominated by Prof. Weaver as the school’s IEL Advisory Board representative.

In addition to the completed registration form, send Prof. Weaver the following:

1. Your resume.

2. A brief cover email describing why this conference is valuable to your career goals. Also include all EENR-related courses that you have taken to date at the Law Center.

3. The Law Center will provide some funding to subsidize student travel/hotels at this conference. The amount of funding depends on the number of students requesting to attend. In no event will the amount exceed $250 per student. If you are requesting funding, please also list any prior funding for travel and conferences that you have received this past year from the EENR Center. You may have to share hotel rooms with other UHLC students.

4. Usually, there is a significantly discounted registration fee for students beyond the two who are eligible to attend for free. Professor Weaver will publicize this discounted fee when she knows it.
