Contract Work
Some graduates will supplement their income while getting a solo practice off the ground or conducting a job search with contract work. Contract work can take on various shapes, from working directly with smaller firms or working with a business that supplies temporary legal support to firms. It commonly involves licensed attorneys working on document review projects that can be for various lengths in time and can be done at law firms, review facilities, corporations and even at home. Contract attorneys on document review projects can be paid from $20 to $40 per hour depending on the agency and project to which the attorney is assigned. A list of local contract placement agencies can be found here and if you would like more information, please contact your career counselor.
