Rhonda
Beassie, Assistant Dean of Career Development
and Assistant Clinical Professor
A graduate of Hawaii Pacific University
and University of Houston Law Center, Dean Rhonda
Beassie practiced and taught in our Clinical and
Legal Writing Programs before assuming direction
of the Career Development Office. She developed
expertise in legal placement as the first Supervisor
of the UHLC Externship Program developing student
placements in judicial internships, government agencies,
health law organizations, and public interest legal
services agencies. Prior to pursuing a career in
law, Dean Beassie worked in both marketing and human
resources fields.
Melissa
Hamlin, Career Counselor
Melissa joined the Career Development Office in
January 2002. She received her Bachelor of Science
from East Texas State University in Photography
and Marketing. Melissa has over twenty years working
with professional degree students in medical and
legal fields. Since joining the Career Development
Office in 2001, Melissa has significantly improved
our employer outreach, participation in national
job fairs and increased the size of our on-campus
interviews.
Catherine
Wright, Program and Office Manager
Catherine
Wright received her degree in Sociology at Arizona State University. While
there she worked in Campus Recreation as a Facility Coordinator. She served
as a Disability Counselor at The University of Mississippi and then joined
the Student Services staff at the University of Houston Law Center in
2001 working as coordinator for student organizations. Catherine handles
numerous administrative and budgetary aspects of the office as well as
Reciprocity and Job Posting services.
