Judicial Internships
Judicial Internships offer the rare opportunity to work one-on-one with a judge. To apply for federal judges, find their addresses on Symplicity. This is the same system the Career Development Office uses for job postings, but it is also very useful when applying for judicial internships and post-graduate judicial clerkships.
Each first year student will be given a password to Symplicity after meeting with your individual career counselor. After logging onto Symplicity, click on the clerkships tab at the top at the top of the page. The next screen provides options for searching judges by court, judge’s last name, city, state, etc. You can then use mail merge feature to address your cover letters and envelopes. To access a starter letter for mail merge, click here.
If you are applying for state judicial internships, the clinical program website provides a useful contacts page for composing cover letters.
