The Online Discussion Board is a closed board and may only be used by those persons authorized by the UH Law Center Office of Admissions. Admitted students may log onto the discussion board using their online status check user id as their login name, and the last four digits of their SSN as their password. If you are unable to access to the discussion board, please send an email to Lisa Buentello, lbuentello@uh.edu.

  • The Office of Admissions invites you to visit the UH Law Center. Guided tours of the UH Law Center are offered at noon, Monday through Friday. To schedule a tour, please call 713-743-2280 or email lawadmissions@uh.edu.

  • All visitors to the University of Houston must display a parking permit to park on campus. Guest parking permits may be purchased at the information kiosks located at Entrance 1 on University Drive and in lot 15G on Cullen Blvd., at the Athletics and Alumni Center. Visitor parking is also available in the parking garage located on University Drive and Calhoun Road.

Laptop Information

The Legal Information Technology department is finalizing recommendations for the 2008 incoming class. The 2008 Apple recommendations are available now, and the Dell options should be updated soon. The link to both the Apple and Dell stores is available at http://www.law.uh.edu/lit/newstudents/index.html. The username and password to enter the Apple site are posted on the admitted student discussion board.

Academic Calendar (This calendar is provided only to give an overview of the schedule. Do not rely on this information. Dates change each year.)

  • April 1 - Priority deadline for financial aid. The school code is 003652.
  • June 2 - First class day for 2008 part-time entering students
  • August 25- First class day for 2008 full-time entering students

Character & Fitness Issues

  • All UHLC students are under a continuing obligation to notify the UHLC of any criminal or disciplinary matters that occur before and after admission, and during their enrollment. This includes any citations or charges other than Class C misdemeanor traffic violations. The most common disclosable offenses include failure to appear (usually in connection with a traffic citation), public intoxication, driving while intoxicated, and honor code-type infractions. If you have been cited or charged with any violation of law or if you have received any scholastic disciplinary action, you must contact the Office of Admission to amend your application.

Scholarship Opportunities and Financial Aid Information

  • Visit www.law.uh.edu/financialaid/scholar.html for scholarship opportunities. Many scholarships have early spring application deadlines.
  • In order to receive financial aid, you must complete the FAFSA and list the University of Houston (school code 003652). The University will begin awarding financial aid after April 1.
