Admiralty
and Maritime Collection
The Admiralty and Maritime Collection is due in large part
to a group donation. This collection was named the 'Judge
John R. Brown Collection' in honor of Judge John R. Brown,
a Fifth Circuit judge who was a local admiralty and maritime
attorney. The collection was lost during Tropical Storm
Allison.
Under the auspices of the Albertus Project, the O'Quinn
Law Library is rebuilding this collection. To date, there
are approximately 350 items in the admiralty and maritime
collection that are currently accessible. For research purposes,
a copy of a pre Tropical Storm Allison Admiralty and Maritime
Bibliography can be found here.
For information about the benefactor of this collection
please reference; his biographical
data, autobiographical
information, and a satirical
publication compiled by Judge Brown's former law
clerks in honor of his 75th birthday. |
