Peter is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar, and he practiced law in Pittsburgh, PA for eight years. Prior to working at our library, he worked at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s library, and the Sacramento County Public Law Library in Sacramento, California.
About the Reference Desk

The library’s Reference Desk is staffed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. During those times, reference librarians are available to help you. The librarians can show you how to use the library’s print and electronic resources to answer your research questions. We will work with you to develop an effective research strategy. We can also show you the hornbooks, nutshells, treatises, and other resources we have that will help you study for your classes.

We especially encourage first year law students to ask for assistance at the Reference Desk. We are here to help you. We can help you start your research assignments, and we can answer any subsequent questions.

Our reference librarians have both law degrees and library science degrees. We have experienced the same challenges that you will experience, so we can sympathize with you!

In short, please bring all your legal research questions to the Reference Desk. We are always happy to help. You can also call the Reference Desk at (713) 743-2327, or e-mail me at
