Foreign Law Guide

 

This database is the electronic version of the well respected print publication Foreign Law: Current Sources of Codes and Basic Legislation in Jurisdictions of the World by Thomas H. Reynolds and Arturo A. Flores. This source is now only available in electronic format.

This database provides guidance on where to find the laws of foreign countries. It explains the basic legal structure and available legal information resources for each country. Foreign language and English language resources are listed.

The database summarizes the laws on specific topics for each country, and directs the patron where to locate the laws.

The database identifies the jurisdictions’ laws for over 100 subjects, including:

Copyright / Industrial Property

Environmental Protection

Family Law

Health Law

Petroleum

The electronic database allows patrons search the database through a keyword search.

The database also includes finding tools for international conventions and treaties.

Patrons can access the Foreign Law Guide database through the library's Web site at http://www.law.uh.edu/libraries/ by selecting Foreign Law Guide from the drop down menu under legal databases. Please contact the library if you have any questions about any of the library's databases.
