Routing
Beginning
Sept 3, 2002, the library will experiment with the routing of current journals
to faculty.* Upon receipt of an individual issue, the library will route it to
interested faculty before shelving the item in our collection.
If
you have a list of journals for which you would like current issues routed to
you, please let your liaison know. If another professor has already requested
the same journal, your name will appear in the routing sequence in the order
in which it was received.
If
you need a listing of the journals to which we currently subscribe (approx.
800 titles), please consult the following lists :
1.
For US journals - us_journals_for_routing.pdf
2.
For Foreign and International Journals - fi_journals_for_routing.pdf
When
you receive the journal issue in your mailbox, you will see a label on the
back cover looking somewhat like :
Houston Law Review
___ Jane Doe
___ John Doe
___ Return to the Library
When
you have finished browsing the issue, please check off your name, and place
the issue into the Library Return bin in your suite. The daily (M-F) library
courier will deliver this issue to the next faculty mailbox on the list. We
are anticipating a two week period for the issue to circulate through the entire
routing list and return to the library for use by other patrons.
