The EENR Center along with the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Law School Taft Gift for the Environment is co-sponsoring a workshop in October 2008, examining how legal systems should be altered in the face of climate change. Drawing on both schools expertise in environment, public health, and climate change, the Workshop hopes to address what principles should govern the changes in laws that will be coming as climate change continues. Several Professors from the University of Houston Law Center, including Marcilynn Burke, Brigham Daniels, Victor Flatt, Julie Hill, and Joan Krause, will be joining leading scholars from across the nation at the gathering in Chapel Hill. The Center for Progressive Reform will also be supporting the Workshop. Reports and white papers from the Workshop will be distributed to policy makers in various levels of government, and posted on the EENR and CPR websites.
