Alumni Services

The Office of Career Development offers numerous services to its alumni. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we may be of assistance.

Online Job Posting Service

Local and national employers post available attorney and legal-related positions on our job posting website hosted by Symplicity. If you do not have a password for this system, please request a password by emailing your current resume and year of graduation to lawcareer@uh.edu.

Intercollegiate Job Bank/Reciprocity Services

Law Center alumni have access to job postings from various law schools across the nation by accessing the Intercollegiate Job Bank. To access the Job Bank, you must first contact Kelli Coley in the Office of Career Development at 713-743-2090 to obtain the password. Once you receive the password, go to the BYU Career Development page at: http://www.law2.byu.edu/career_services/job_networking/

Law Center alumni can request access to the career center at a law school in another city that is not listed on the Intercollegiate Job Bank for a prescribed period of time, which usually includes gaining access to that school’s job postings. Many law schools have black out dates (usually in the fall) during which time reciprocity requests will not be entertained. Reciprocity requests take 1 to 2 weeks to process and students are notified by mail or e-mail that a request has been approved. Requests for Reciprocity can be made to one law school within a city per alum.

To make a reciprocity request, send an e-mail to lawcareer@uh.edu. Include in your e-mail the specific law school you would like reciprocity from and your current mailing address, phone number and graduation year. If you fail to include this information in your e-mail, a request will not be made of your behalf.

Alumni Network

The External Affairs department at the Law Center also offers a host of services to our alumni. For information about such services, please see the External Affairs website.
